Job Description
Job Title: Job Controller
The Job Controller will coordinate between the Service Reception and the Workshop to ensure efficient planning, monitoring, and control of workshop operations. This role is crucial in managing workshop load, allocating jobs, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between the Service Reception and the Workshop.
- Communicate job priorities with Workshop Supervisors and allocate tasks to technicians based on their training and skills.
- Planning and Monitoring:
- Conduct effective planning and control of workshop load in accordance with workshop capacity.
- Determine and monitor workshop capacity and remaining available hours.
- Job Allocation:
- Allocate jobs to technicians considering their skills, training, and job priorities (Appointment, Scheduled Delivery, VIP customers).
- Monitor actual work progress and update records of job allocation status.
- Time Management:
- Track and compare allowed time vs. actual time taken for tasks.
- Input man-hours data for job costing purposes.
- Communication:
- Inform Service Advisors of any delays, job status, additional work, or lost time.
- Convey available man-hours to the Service Reception to assist with workshop loading.
- Completion and Follow-Up:
- Ensure job completion within the promised delivery time.
- Follow up with the Parts Department for parts availability.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Report disciplinary issues to the VAS Supervisor and VAS Manager.
- Enter data for F1 (Fix it right the first time) and generate weekly and monthly reports (Technician by Job Type report).
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Experience:
- 2 to 4 years in a related field or role.
- Skills:
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Competence in managing complex human relationships and culturally sensitive situations.
- Advanced skills in MS Office.
