Position Title: Automobile Technician Roles &amp; Responsibilities 1. Diagnosis and Repair: - Diagnose, repair, and replace vehicle components using appropriate special tools, following MG Guidelines and IEM SOP. - Troubleshoot and diagnose all vehicle systems based on observations, mechanical testing, computerized diagnostic equipment, customer information, and service history. 2. Specialized Repairs: - Perform wheel alignment, wheel balancing, and AC repair. 3. Reporting: - Provide accurate, detailed warranty reports and/or cash estimates for repairs and parts replacements. 4. Technical Learning: - Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology. 5. Parts Coordination: - Communicate with Parts Advisor, Team Leader, Master Technician, and Workshop Controller to order the correct needed parts. - Determine the amount of work needed on the vehicle and communicate with the Workshop Controller. 6. Additional Repairs: - Identify any additional repairs not specified in the job card and communicate with the Master Technician or Workshop Controller. 7. Team Assistance: - Assist workers if any difficulties arise while performing their jobs. 8. Workplace Organization: - Maintain an organized and neat bay. - Maintain an inventory of normal technician tools. - Ensure a clean and organized work area and maintain company assets. 9. Task Documentation: - Provide clear and simple write-ups of the tasks performed, highlight any comments, and inform superiors of any safety-related comments. - Clock in/out to the assigned job order as per standard procedures. 10. Company Procedures: - Follow superior instructions in line with company SOP. - Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. - Adhere to health and safety procedures and regulations. - Report any technical problems or safety-related issues in vehicles to the Master Technician. 11. Additional Duties: - Perform other duties as requested by the Master Technician.
