Job Title: Resident/Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil (Substations/OHL)

We are seeking experienced Resident/Assistant Resident Engineers specializing in Civil Engineering for Substations and Overhead Lines (OHL) to manage our power engineering projects. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in civil engineering for electrical infrastructure projects and a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Mission:
- Deliver the Owner Engineer’s mission by managing the civil engineering portfolio of power substations, cables, and transmission lines projects, focusing on technical, HSE, and financial performance.

Reporting Lines:
- This role reports to the Product Manager T&D and operationally to the Principal Resident Engineer or Coordinator Resident Engineer of the project. Support may also be required for other projects in the region.

Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
- Conduct site surveys and data collection; coordinate with all stakeholders.
- Review designs and shop drawings; conduct technical meetings as required.
- Supervise construction works of substations, cables, and overhead transmission lines (preferably EHV & HV).
- Oversee soil investigations, geotechnical, and geophysical works.
- Manage piling works in various soil conditions and conduct pile tests.
- Ensure corrosion protection and painting requirements are met.
- Test civil materials in laboratories.
- Prepare platforms and access roads.
- Conduct site and progress meetings; control and certify civil works progress.
- Collaborate closely with other project disciplines.
- Track progress and report accordingly.
- Certify contractor works on a monthly basis.

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Requirements:
- Actively participate in HSE activities, including induction, training, and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with all HSE aspects and reduce risks and hazards.
- Report residual risks and hazards to the Client / TRACTEBEL HO.
- Monitor compliance of principal contractors and subcontractors with HSE regulations.
- Notify the Client / TRACTEBEL HO of any non-compliances or serious HSE violations.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Your Capabilities:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with equivalization from UAE MOE.
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Specific Knowledge: Experience with TRANSCO, ADDC, and AADC networks.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (written & spoken); excellent correspondence skills in contractual and technical matters.
- Interpersonal Skills: Team player with the ability to liaise with the Client’s specialized engineers.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office; overall project coordination experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Valid UAE/GCC Driving License; work experience in the UAE/GCC region.
