Job Description
Job Title: Technical Office Manager
Job Overview:
The Technical Office Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that all aspects of a project comply with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions. This role involves providing technical and administrative guidance to the project team, ensuring seamless coordination between construction and engineering efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision & Review: Oversee the preparation of construction method statements and collaborate with construction personnel to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Technical & Material Submissions: Prepare and review technical and material submittals, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
- Project Planning: Plan and maintain the project budget and schedule, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Meetings & Proposals: Attend progress meetings, discuss ongoing developments, and propose technical solutions as needed.
- Project & Risk Management: Participate in project management and risk management reviews, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Coordination: Serve as a liaison between construction and engineering teams, ensuring that construction requirements are effectively communicated and met by the engineering team.
- Cost Management: Manage cost analysis and cost control activities on-site, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Quantity Surveying: Coordinate with quantity surveyors on payment approvals, change orders, and cost estimations.
- Subcontractor Management: Review and manage subcontractor invoices, negotiate terms, and monitor performance and payments.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and organized project records, documenting all project issues and conditions.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 15-20 years of experience in large construction projects, specifically within a technical office environment.
- Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, strong communication, and supervisory skills.
- Language: Fluency in English is required.
- Certifications: Holding a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate is an advantage.
