Job Description
Position: Food and Beverage Server
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform with name badge and palm pin.
2. Maintain and promote Sofitel operational excellence.
3. Understand and adhere to Sofitel Dubai the Obelisk standards.
4. Ensure mise-en-place is complete.
5. Arrive on schedule, following proper payroll and uniform procedures.
6. Gather and transport all supplies needed for the set-up of a function, including silver, china, linen, skirts, glassware, condiments, etc.
7. Perform side duties as per the checklist.
8. Report any deviations from set standards and procedures to the management.
9. Ensure all operating equipment is well-maintained.
10. Keep service and storage areas safe, clean, and locked.
11. Minimize waste, neglect, breakages, and mishandling of supplies and equipment.
12. Report complaints, incidents, or irregularities to the management.
13. Assist in work simplification and necessary changes.
14. Monitor the quality of products and services.
15. Be punctual at all times.
16. Ensure guests receive the attention they require.
17. Attend meetings and training sessions as requested.
18. Behave professionally with other staff members, managers, and directors.
19. Assist and report to the Banquets Manager, carrying out requests from the Management.
20. Attend to guest needs, complaints, and on-site requests courteously and helpfully.
21. Set up and unset function rooms, including table settings, according to established standards.
22. Perform cashiering and dispensing of beverages as assigned by Banquet Management.
23. Present banquet checks to event organizers, ensuring checks are signed and correctly posted.
24. Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures.
25. Deliver food and beverage service of high standard following departmental standards and procedures.
26. Communicate any difficulties, guest comments, and relevant information to superiors.
27. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees.
28. Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, outlets, hotel services/features, and hours of operations.
29. Account and handle cash effectively, efficiently, and with integrity, following proper accounting procedures.
30. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Hotel Management.
31. Assist other Food & Beverage Outlets during peak times when needed.
Qualifications:
Personal Attributes:
- Average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
- Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times.
- Good communication and customer contact skills, along with excellent problem resolution skills.
- Basic F&B product knowledge.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Secondary education.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-year food and beverage serving experience.
