Job Description
Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor
Job Purpose:
As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of your assigned section to ensure the highest levels of comfort, cleanliness, and safety for all guests and staff. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining superior standards and creating memorable experiences for guests. You will act as a role model for the Housekeeping team and address any guest and colleague concerns with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Management
- Manage the daily operations of the assigned section, ensuring cleanliness, maintenance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Lead and motivate the Housekeeping team, including Room Attendants, Turndown Attendants, and House Attendants.
- Conduct training and coaching sessions to ensure adherence to expected service standards.
- Actively participate in daily briefings, warm-ups, and department meetings.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination within the team and with other departments.
2. Guest and Room Services
- Ensure timely and efficient room turnovers, including checkout rooms and VIP rooms.
- Verify the status of rooms with Privacy Please indicators and coordinate room make-up with Room Attendants.
- Inspect guest rooms, showrooms, elevator foyers, storage, and supply areas to maintain quality standards.
- Address and rectify any deficiencies in rooms or areas as necessary and follow up on corrections.
3. Operational Duties
- Maintain and improve guest service scores by working closely with all Housekeeping staff.
- Ensure all guestrooms are equipped with proper furniture, fixtures, and amenities according to set standards.
- Manage Lost and Found items, ensuring they are forwarded to the Housekeeping Office.
- Report any damage, special cleaning needs, or changes in furnishings to the Housekeeping Office.
- Confirm that all daily duties are completed to standard by Room Attendants and House Attendants.
4. Administrative Tasks
- Maintain a presence at hotel/department meetings and committees as required.
- Follow Accor standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Conduct proper handover at the end of each shift with the Shift in Charge and the Junior Assistant Executive Housekeeper/Assistant Executive Housekeeper.
- Assist with other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the manager, including covering for absent team members.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping or a similar field is required.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to handle guest and colleague concerns with professionalism.
- Proficiency in standard housekeeping practices and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Work Environment:
- Primarily on-site at Fairmont Amman.
- Requires physical stamina to perform duties such as standing, walking, lifting, and carrying.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
