Job Description
Job Title: Senior Associate – External Audit
Role Overview:
As an External Audit Senior Associate, you will be responsible for supporting audit engagements and working closely with Managers and Partners. You will play a key role in assisting clients with building trust, solving complex challenges, and managing engagement activities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze clients' financial statements to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Examine financial records, inventory, and tangible assets such as equipment.
- Conduct interviews with client personnel, ranging from formal written questions to informal conversations.
- Test internal controls and processes to ensure their effectiveness.
- Build trust with clients by understanding their needs and providing high-quality services.
- Conduct thorough research on the client's industry before engagements begin.
- Communicate engagement progress, risks, and variances with the Manager and/or Partner in a timely manner.
- Take ownership of audit file completion and ensure compliance with risk, quality, and independence standards.
- Review the work of junior staff, providing training, coaching, and constructive feedback to support their professional development.
- Assist in business development activities by identifying and researching opportunities for new or existing clients.
- Manage and engage with diverse teams to ensure timely completion of audit phases.
- Participate in digital initiatives and upskilling programs that align with the team's business needs.
- Perform other audit procedures as necessary to support the issuance of deliverables.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Completion or pursuit of a professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, ACA, or CPA (preferred).
- Progressive experience as a Senior Associate with a range of external audit clients in a Big 4 firm.
- Experience working across various industries and client portfolios.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to thrive in a team environment.
- Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is an advantage.
- Proven business development and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent project management abilities with a commitment to meeting timelines and internal KPIs.
- Knowledge of audit technologies and experience using data analytics tools is a plus.
- Strong technical skills in accounting, reporting, and auditing standards.
- Experience designing engagement procedures based on risk and materiality.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coach audit teams effectively.
- A commitment to diversity and valuing different perspectives in the workplace.
