Job Title: Sales Engineer - Pipes
Reports to: Sales Manager
Job Purpose:
The Sales Engineer for Pipes is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration in an assigned territory or market segment. This role involves effectively selling the company's products and services, securing new business accounts, and maintaining customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Quotation Preparation:
- Review customer inquiries and prepare rapid and accurate quotations.
2. Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers through in-person meetings, telephone calls, and emails.
- Arrange meetings with potential customers to prospect for new business.
3. Market Engagement:
- Gather market and customer information.
- Represent the organization at trade exhibitions, events, and demonstrations.
4. Negotiation and Liaison:
- Negotiate on price, costs, delivery, and specifications with buyers and managers.
- Liaise with suppliers to check the progress of existing orders.
5. Sales Record Keeping:
- Record sales and order information, sending copies to the sales office.
- Review own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets.
6. Customer Understanding:
- Gain a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements.
7. Team Collaboration:
- Attend team meetings and share best practices with colleagues.
Qualifications:
Education:
- University degree in mechanical engineering.
Skills and Experience:
- 5 years' experience in a similar position.
- Experience working with an outdoor sales team.
- Very good technical knowledge.
- Demonstrated problem-solving aptitude.
- Results-oriented with the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with good presentation skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
