Job Description

Job Title: Control Center Duty Officer (Aviation/Airline)

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Control Center Duty Officer plays a critical role in maintaining security at airports by overseeing the operations of security systems and ensuring the effective handling of incidents and investigations. The individual will lead operations across centralized and extended security control centers, ensuring smooth communication and optimal performance of security systems.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Incident Reporting & Communication:
- Communicate promptly with the Duty Manager (DM) about any security incident reported during the shift.
- Prepare incident and detailed security reports upon receiving appropriate approvals.

2. System Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Perform daily functionality checks of CCTV, microphones, duress systems, and access control (AC) systems.
- Maintain records, raise fault calls, and liaise with relevant departments to ensure all security systems are operational and optimally functioning.

3. Investigations & Reporting:
- Conduct in-depth investigations on complaints or concerns raised by internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain proper records of investigations and produce factual reports, identifying trends and proposing mitigation measures to prevent security breaches.

4. Control Center Operations:
- Independently manage operations and serve as the bridge between the Main Security Control Center and extended security control centers located at the Central Concourse (NSC) and Mid-field Control Center (MSC).

5. System Development & Coordination:
- Hold regular meetings with the Security System and Hardware teams to address operational challenges, amendments, and developments in the Access Control (AC) and Video Management Systems (VMS) used in airport security.
- Incorporate all new amendments in AC and VMS within centralized and extended security control centers.

6. Documentation & SOP Management:
- Prepare, amend, and revise Business Notices (BNs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and internal training packages related to airport security operations.
- Ensure all document control systems (DCS) are up-to-date across all workstations.

7. Training & Development:
- Conduct on-the-job training for new staff on AC and VMS systems, and offer recurrent training for existing staff.
- Proactively identify the need for tailored training to enhance staff competence across control centers.

8. CCTV Footage Management:
- Obtain necessary approvals for extracting and sharing CCTV footage and snapshots based on business needs.
- Ensure CCTV footage and snapshots are stored and shared following the latest documented procedures.

9. Asset Request Permit Processing:
- Ensure all asset request permits are processed within the stipulated time frame according to documented processes.

10. Field of View (FOV) Optimization:
- Conduct periodic field of view (FOV) assessments for priority-1/2 CCTV cameras to optimize coverage and provide accurate operational views for investigations.

11. Reporting & Trend Analysis:
- Prepare weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports on the technical performance of security systems.
- Identify and flag critical trends or loops in the system and adopt proactive measures to mitigate potential failures or malfunctions.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Aviation Security domain.
- Alternatively, a High School Qualification or Vocational Qualification/Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.

- Experience:
- In-depth knowledge of aviation security systems, including CCTV, AC, and VMS.
- Proven experience in incident handling, security system management, and conducting investigations.
- Experience in training and mentoring staff on security systems and processes.

- Skills:
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead and manage security operations independently.
