QC Engineer

Position: QC Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Inspection Duties: Conduct pre-welding fit-up inspections, during-welding inspections, post-weld visual inspections, and overall dimension inspections. Prepare detailed reports on findings.

2. Documentation: Prepare and maintain documents to meet the requirements of EN-1090-2 and AWS D1.1 standards.

3. Consumable Inspection: Oversee the incoming inspection and testing of welding consumables, including welding electrodes, flux, and gases.

4. Machine Calibration: Calibrate all welding machines used in the fabrication shop and at the site.

5. WPS & PQR Preparation: Responsible for preparing Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).

6. Implementation: Ensure welding is carried out according to approved WPS and PQR, both in the factory and on-site.

7. NDT Coordination: Coordinate Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) with Third Party Inspectors (TPI) and witness NDT as required by the project.

8. Inspection & Reporting: Complete welding and NDT inspections as per the approved Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and review NDT reports in line with project requirements.

9. Documentation Completion: Complete Quality Control (QC) documents as per ITP.

10. Third Party & Client Inspections: Facilitate and manage third-party and client inspections.

11. Training: Provide training to welders and supervisors on good welding practices both in the factory and on-site.

12. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including corrective actions and closures.

13. Audit Preparation: Prepare for and conduct weld audits.

14. Rework Analysis: Perform rework data analysis and assess rework costs.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Educational & Technical Qualifications:
- BE/B Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI certification

- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the steel fabrication field.
