Job Title: Telecom Specialist

Job Summary:
The Telecom Specialist is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunication systems in compliance with Qatargas standards. This role requires a robust background in managing telecom systems within a live project environment, ensuring seamless operation to support safety and communication needs on offshore platforms.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Installation & Configuration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and integration of telecommunication systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and Qatargas standards.

- System Maintenance: Manage and maintain telecom systems, including PABX, LAN/WAN networks, VHF/UHF radio systems, satellite communication, and CCTV, to ensure continuous operation and safety.

- Troubleshooting: Perform on-site troubleshooting and repairs of telecom systems to minimize downtime and ensure rapid resolution of issues.

- Commissioning & Testing: Lead the on-site commissioning and testing of telecom systems, ensuring compliance with operational and safety requirements.

- Documentation: Prepare and review commissioning documentation, maintaining thorough records of all tests and modifications.

- Maintenance Plans: Implement scheduled maintenance plans for all telecom systems, ensuring they remain operational and compliant with safety standards.

- Vendor Coordination: Coordinate and supervise on-site vendors and subcontractors performing upgrades or maintenance tasks on telecom equipment.

- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing necessary upgrades to enhance reliability.

- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all on-site telecom activities comply with Qatargas standards and relevant international regulations.

- Inspections & Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits of telecom systems, addressing potential compliance issues as they arise.

- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and compliance inspections.

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in telecommunications systems are preferred.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with telecom systems in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically in an offshore environment during the commissioning phase.
- Proven experience with Qatargas standards is essential.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
