Job Description
Job Title: Collections Officer
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Fee Collection Management: Oversee the entire fee collection process, including generating invoices, coordinating payment reminders with students and parents, and resolving payment-related issues.
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for students, ensuring that all payment transactions are documented and organized.
- Billing Coordination: Work with academic departments and admissions teams to ensure accurate billing and fee assessment for each student.
- Overdue Account Monitoring: Monitor and follow up on overdue accounts, implement collection strategies, and communicate effectively with delinquent payers to facilitate resolution.
- Reporting: Prepare and provide regular reports and updates to management on fee collection status, trends, and potential financial risks.
- Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns related to fee payments, billing discrepancies, and financial aid in a timely manner.
- Finance Collaboration: Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile collected fees, identify discrepancies, and assist in preparing financial statements.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving fee collection procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain accuracy.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in fee collection, accounts receivable, or a related financial role, preferably in an educational institution or similar environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software, accounting systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and management.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations tactfully and diplomatically.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Integrity and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
