Job Description
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Utilize PlanSwift software to prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and budget forecasts.
- Ensure estimates are comprehensive and align with project scope and specifications.
- Tender Preparation:
- Prepare and review tender documents, including Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Assist in evaluating tenders and selecting suitable contractors.
- Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Monitor project costs and expenditures, identify potential cost overruns, and implement corrective actions.
- Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to project stakeholders.
- Contract Administration:
- Administer contracts, manage variations, claims, and disputes.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions; negotiate and resolve contractual issues.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of project costs, changes, and communications.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on financial performance, cost analysis, and project progress.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and sub-contractors.
- Provide support and advice on cost-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all quantity surveying activities meet high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into your work.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in the UAE or Middle East construction sector.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in PlanSwift for quantity take-offs and cost estimation. Familiarity with other software (e.g., MS Excel, AutoCAD) is a plus.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract administration, and cost management. Familiarity with UAE and Middle East regulations and standards.
