Job Description
Job Title: Site Architect
What you will need to do:
As a Site Architect, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the construction phase from finishes to completion. You will be responsible for ensuring quality control of contractor construction activities related to finishing works, adhering to contract drawings and specifications. Your duties will include attending site meetings, coordinating with contractors, conducting site visits, and monitoring construction progress and quality. Additionally, you will review drawings, manage project submittals, and ensure compliance with local regulations and approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construction Oversight: Supervise and ensure quality control of contractor construction activities for finishing works (blockworks, plaster works, cladding, joinery, aluminum, etc.) as per contract drawings and specifications.
- Site Meetings and Coordination: Attend and assist in site meetings, coordinate with main and subcontractors, and ensure timely information flow to the site.
- Site Visits and Reporting: Conduct weekly site visits, document observations in a site visit report format, and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) to the Contractor for rectification.
- IFC Drawings and Submittals: Review Issued For Construction (IFC) drawings before releasing to the site. Act as the log master for project submittals, ensuring timely distribution and follow-up.
- Change Management: Document changes at the site, fill change forms, and raise concerns regarding potential cost and time implications caused by contractors.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on local authority regulations, approvals, and amendments applicable to the project. Ensure contractors' adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Technical Coordination: Coordinate with architectural, interior design, landscape, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines along with the main contractor to resolve issues without compromising design integrity.
- Action List Management: Develop and maintain action lists for assigned projects, ensuring team follow-up and resolution of pending items.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on project progress regularly, comparing planned vs. achieved milestones.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance to architectural staff working on the same project. Review CAD drawings, renderings, layouts, construction documents, and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
- Proactive Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve issues or concerns that may impact project progress, collaborating with project engineers and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, and mixed-use projects as a Site Project Architect in a Consultant firm.
- Proven experience in supervising site construction activities.
- Proficiency in Revit & AutoCAD is essential.
- Ability to manage own transportation.
- Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
