Job Title: Web Developer

Location: United Arab Emirates University (UAEU)

About the Role:
The Web Developer position at UAEU involves supporting the ongoing development and management of UAEU websites, portals, and the development of custom web applications. The role includes various stages of the software engineering process, from requirements gathering to post go-live support, adhering to web development best practices and ensuring compliance with information security policies.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain templates, layouts, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
- Manage different stages of the software engineering process, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, training, documentation, and support.
- Design and develop web applications, providing post go-live support.
- Adhere to web development best practices and prepare test plans for web applications for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Document all web applications, including user and technical guides.
- Support system administrators and database administrators during the transition of web applications from test to production.
- Make recommendations for improving the web development process.
- Adhere to all information security policies and procedures of the University.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 0-3 years of experience.

Technical / Functional Competencies:
- Good knowledge of XML, XSL, XSLT.
- Familiarity with content management systems.
- Experience using development and testing frameworks and tools.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft technology stack, InfoPath, and SharePoint Designer.
- Designing and Implementing custom workflows in SharePoint.
- Knowledge of relational databases and management tools like Toad.
- Basic knowledge of mobile development is recommended.
- Hands-on experience in Internet technologies and programming, including HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, .NET, and Visual Basic.
- Proven experience in creating database-driven websites.
- Working knowledge of other server-side languages and client-side languages like PHP, JSP, XML, SQL, and Java.
- Experience using industry-standard web development tools.
- Knowledge of using graphics design software like Photoshop and Flash is a plus.
