Job Title: Safety Investigator

We are seeking a skilled Safety Investigator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in aerodrome safety and investigations, with a strong background in aviation management and safety systems. This role involves conducting thorough investigations, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Investigation:
- Conduct detailed investigations into safety incidents and accidents.
- Gather data and evidence through effective interviews and analysis.
- Apply investigation models such as the Swiss Cheese model and Five Whys to determine root causes and contributing factors.

- Safety Management:
- Utilize knowledge of Aerodrome Safety Management Systems to inform investigation processes and outcomes.
- Ensure investigations align with ICAO standards and aviation safety legislation.

- Risk Assessment & Analysis:
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments and gap analyses.
- Develop recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance safety measures.

- Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare detailed investigation reports and documentation.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

- Skills & Competency Development:
- Demonstrate advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentation.
- Stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

- Minimum Qualification:
- University degree in aviation management or a related field.
- ACI Safety Management Diploma or equivalent is desirable.
- Training in Aviation Legislation and ICAO Annexes.
- Competency in Aerodrome Safety Management Systems.

- Minimum Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience with a focus on aerodrome safety and relevant investigations.

- Job Specific Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills for conducting effective interviews and gathering information.
- Advanced knowledge of ICAO Annexes (13, 14, 19) and ICAO Docs (9756, 9156, 9137, 9859).
- Proficient in performing risk assessments, root cause analysis, and gap analysis.
- Familiarity with investigation models and techniques.
