Job Description
Job Title: Mechanical Designer
Purpose of the Job:
Responsible for mechanical designs, material purchase specifications, and quality assurance systems related to transformers to meet customer technical requirements and quality expectations.
Interactions:
- Internal: Head of Technology (Design, R&D, HSEQ), department colleagues, production, after-sales services team, central purchase.
- External: Customers, vendors, research & testing institutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design Preparation: Develop detailed mechanical designs for distribution transformers up to 20 MVA, 33 kV class.
- Tender Support: Assist the marketing department in preparing tender documents.
- Manufacturing Drawings: Prepare manufacturing drawings.
- Purchase Specifications: Create purchase specifications and support the Purchase Department in vendor evaluations.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to production and procurement departments during manufacturing.
- Design Deviations: Make decisions on deviations from design during manufacturing.
- Budget Assistance: Help finalize the budget for R&D.
- Problem Solving: Conduct root cause analysis, resolve problems, and improve existing designs based on feedback from manufacturing or site.
- Product Development: Develop new products aligned with customer expectations, market intelligence, and competitiveness.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in the distribution transformer industry with hands-on experience in mechanical design of transformers up to 20 MVA, 33 kV class.
- Skills: Experience with customer technical specifications, involvement in new product development, and design improvements.

- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Experience in customer interactions, vendor development and evaluations, and after-sales service exposure.
