Job Description: Finance Assistant
Job Summary:
The Finance Assistant will support the finance management team in various tasks, including transactional and operational duties. The role involves handling diverse financial responsibilities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Fixed Assets:
- Addition/Deletion and Maintenance of Fixed Assets.
2. Expense Management:
- Advising on Accruals for certain expense heads.
- Approval of employees' expenses.
- Credit notes posting.
3. Customer Interaction:
- Building relationships with the Customer Finance department.
- Dealing with problematic customer receivable cases.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Department-wise cost center OH reporting.
- GL and cost center-wise review and reconciliation.
- Monthly MIS and related Annexure and Schedule.
- Preparation of BS Schedules.
5. Accounts Receivable:
- Follow up on the collections of overdue invoices.
- Employee Receivables.
- AR clean up during the review in ERP.
- Receipt Allocation & Reconciliation.
- Receivable Review.
6. Legal and Compliance:
- Legal case handling for customers.
- Maintaining relationships with government departments and Police.
- Other legal work – Municipality permissions, etc.
7. Intercompany Transactions:
- Initiate, review, and accept intercompany transactions.
- Intercompany Credit management and payment.
8. Month-End Processes:
- Month-end closing entries and processes for AP/GL/FA.
- Month-end Accruals and ad-hoc reporting.
- Timely closure of month books of accounts.
9. General Financial Operations:
- Invoice booking.
- Forecast Bank remittances and Cash Flow.
- Sales Review.
- Cost Savings Initiatives – Positive Impact on the bottom line.
- Volume/Accuracy of invoices processed.
KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):
- Accrual Accuracy.
- AR Hygiene.
- Cash Flow Estimation Accuracy.
- Cost-center accounting accuracy.
- Customer reconciliation efficiency.
- Timely Financial Reporting to Management.
- Vendor Reconciliations - % Vendor Coverage.
- Working Capital reports.
Work Experience Requirement:
5 years + in FMCG financial function
Qualification:
ICWA, B. Com, MBA/MCOM
ACCA, CPA
