Job Description
Job Title: Mechanical Site Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations for oil tank storage, structures, and pipelines.
- Collaboration: Work with civil engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate project components and align with goals.
- Site Oversight: Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and timelines.
- Contractor Management: Manage and coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality and timely task completion.
- Material Inspection: Inspect and approve materials delivered to the site, ensuring they meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Workmanship Inspection: Regularly inspect workmanship to meet construction standards and address areas needing improvement.
- Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and resolve mechanical engineering issues that arise.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and solve technical problems related to the construction of oil tanks, structures, and pipelines.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed project records, including logs, progress reports, and documentation of changes or deviations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and submit necessary documentation to regulatory authorities and stakeholders.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure work adheres to health and safety regulations, particularly in hazardous oil storage and pipelines.
- Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents.
- Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources effectively, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely material delivery.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a liaison between clients, contractors, and stakeholders, keeping them informed of project progress.
- Project Meetings: Attend and participate in project meetings and site visits.
- Budget Monitoring: Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure cost-effective execution.
- Cost-Saving Measures: Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.
- Compliance: Ensure work complies with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Permits & Approvals: Obtain necessary permits and approvals for project aspects.
- Risk Management: Identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Solution Implementation: Implement solutions to overcome challenges and keep the project on track.
- Mentorship: Mentor and train junior engineers and site staff.
- Industry Trends: Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Additional certifications in project management, safety, or quality assurance are advantageous.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years in mechanical engineering with specific experience in oil tank storage, structures, and pipelines. Proven track record in the oil and gas industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and construction methods related to oil tanks and pipelines. Proficiency in engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and project management software like MS Project or Primavera.
