Job Description
Position: Project HSE Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Safe Workplace Environment: Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
- Technical Advice & Coordination: Provide technical advice and coordination in line with the project OHS Plan, legislation, and standards into work groups as required/directed.
- Emergency Response Plan: Assist with implementation and monitoring of project ERP (Emergency Response Plan).
- Safety Training: Deliver project safety induction and other identified safety training.
- Policy Adherence: Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are adhered to, regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated.
- Statutory Obligations: Ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
- Risk Assessments: Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
- Accident Documentation: Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated, and recommended improvements implemented.
- Safety Inspections: Ensure that safety inspections, fire drills, and fire alarms are correctly reported, and that employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Policy Development: Coordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work, and procedures.
- Training Records: Ensure full and accurate health and safety and training records are maintained.
- Inspection Program: Establish a full programme of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks.
- Training Program: Establish a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the Company.
- Health & Safety Committee: Assist in managing the agenda for the Health & Safety Committee meetings and ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
- Legislation Updates: Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety, and welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
- Reporting: Participate in weekly/monthly meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Education: Must have a Civil Engineering background - Diploma or Degree.
- Certifications: NEBOSH International General Certificate.
- Approvals: RTA Approved (Must Required), DDA Approved (Must Required).
- Experience: Experience in road diversions (Must Required), minimum 7 years of previous experience in comprehensive workplace safety and compliance programs & solid infrastructure/roads/bridges/marine/barge.
- Knowledge: Solid knowledge of local legislation and guideline changes.
- Driving License: UAE driving license (Must Required).
- Availability: Available to join immediately.
