MEP Draughtsman

Job Title: MEP Draughtsman

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Drawing Development:
Develop MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings, including layouts, schematics, and detailed designs, with a focus on electrical systems. Coordinate with interior design (ID) and architectural layouts.

- Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that drawings align with project requirements and site conditions.

- Compliance:
Adhere to relevant codes and standards, including local body regulations such as DM, ADM, DEWA, DCD, ADCD, and ADDC.

- Revisions:
Review and update drawings based on feedback and modifications.

- Coordination:
Coordinate with other trades to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project.

- Detail Drawings:
Produce detailed shop drawings as per standards, design, and specifications.

- Material Take-Offs:
Assist in generating material take-offs and quantities for MEP systems based on project requirements and specifications.

- Documentation:
Support in preparing documentation required for material submissions.

- Project Transition:
Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from the construction phase to occupancy and operation.

- Design Compliance:
Ensure final designs comply with building regulations and identify and communicate potential design problems to the team.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Educational Background:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.

- Experience:
5-7 years of experience as an MEP Draughtsman, with a strong preference for electrical knowledge.

- Availability:
Candidates should be available to join immediately. Interviews and trade tests will be conducted in person only.

- Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Proficiency in drafting software and staying up-to-date with advancements in the field.
- Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.

- Work Environment:
Comfort with working at an adjustable table and computer terminal. Must be able to collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
