Job Title: Senior Accountant

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely completion of regulatory reporting requirements in accordance with applicable laws and standards.

2. Month-End and Year-End Close Processes:
- Oversee and conduct the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial activities are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.

3. Financial Analysis and Compliance:
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.

4. Budgeting and Financial Planning:
- Develop and manage budgets and financial forecasts, providing strategic insights to support business planning and decision-making.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures, providing explanations and recommendations for corrective actions.

5. Audit and Information Requests:
- Respond to management inquiries and external audit requests, providing detailed financial information and documentation as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of documents and reports required for tax audits and the filing of tax returns.

6. Internal Controls and Documentation:
- Document and review business processes and accounting policies, ensuring strong internal controls are maintained.
- Identify areas for improvement in accounting procedures and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

7. Tax Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
- Work with tax advisors to optimize tax planning strategies and minimize tax liabilities.

Desired Candidate Profile:

1. Experience:
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, or similar role.
- Extensive experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

2. Accounting Knowledge:
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles, including a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Awareness of current business trends and the ability to adapt financial practices accordingly.

3. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial accounting statements and hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of Vlookups, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with MS Dynamics and Microsoft O365.

4. Attention to Detail:
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail, ensuring all financial records and reports are error-free.
- Ability to identify discrepancies in financial data and take corrective actions promptly.

5. Educational Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Additional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are advantageous.
