Job Title: Specialist, IT Enterprise Analytics

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialist in IT Enterprise Analytics to manage and develop our data engineering and management tasks. This role involves overseeing data repositories, transport, modeling, and cataloging to support effective reporting and dashboarding. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities and experience in designing and implementing business intelligence solutions to aid in business decision-making.

Key Accountabilities:

- Designing and Implementing BI Solutions:
- Develop and implement business intelligence technical solutions to meet organizational needs.
- Create and maintain data pipelines and workflows to ensure efficient data processing and analysis.

- Data Management:
- Ingest, cleanse, and model data using various methodologies and tools.
- Design and implement data architecture and ensure robust data management practices.

- Documentation:
- Document data models, configurations, and other solution details to ensure clarity and consistency.

- Project Management:
- Work within project management and agile delivery methodologies to achieve project goals.

- Customer Engagement:
- Engage with customers to identify proofs of concept (POCs) and new insights that add value to the business.

- Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively within a high-performance team to support collaborative efforts and project success.

- Analytical Skills:
- Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex data-related challenges.

Communications & Working Relationships:

- Internal:
- Collaborate with Function Heads, Business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and IT SMEs to align on project goals and requirements.

- External:
- Coordinate with IT suppliers and external vendors as needed to support project execution and resolve technical issues.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

- Qualifications:
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Data Science or related discipline.

- Experience:
- Minimum: 1-3 years of experience in BI or data development roles.
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in cloud-based BI development or data engineering.

- Skills:
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Analytical: Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to understand and interpret complex data.
- Problem-Solving: Advanced problem-solving skills to address and resolve data-related issues.

- Technical Skills:
- SQL & Database Technologies:
- Expert knowledge of SQL for querying and manipulating databases.
- Proficiency in database technologies and data warehousing.
- Expert understanding of ETL & ELT processes for data integration.
- Knowledge of R, Python, SAP BW, SAP Business Objects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Machine Learning, HDInsight, Hadoop, Spark is a plus.

- Data Modelling & Visualization:
- Knowledge of data modeling techniques such as ER diagrams, normalization, and schema designs (star and snowflake).
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Ability to write DAX or analytical calculation formulas for data manipulation in tabular models.

- Data Quality and Governance:
- Understanding of data quality assessment and governance practices to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.

- Cloud Platforms:
- Experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Snowflake for data storage and analytics.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Data Lake, SQL Server, and Power BI is a plus.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, Data Lake Analytics, and Azure Databricks is beneficial.

Additional Information:

- This role may involve occasional travel or participation in off-site meetings and events.
- The Specialist will be expected to work closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of BI solutions and data management practices.
