Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description:
Position Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in responding to and attending to guest repair requests. Your primary responsibility is to communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues promptly. You will also perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, ensuring their proper functioning.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to guest repair requests and effectively communicate with guests/customers to resolve maintenance issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify any potential issues.
- Carry equipment such as tools and radio to facilitate maintenance tasks.
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Communicate each day's activities and any problems that occur to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
- Display basic knowledge or acquire knowledge in various maintenance categories such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and kitchen equipment.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb, and A/C filter replacement, and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area.
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and other guestroom items.
- Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work to ensure safety.
- Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping as well as external landscaping sprinklers.
- Display basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures and report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance and protect company assets.
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate their service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
- Adhere to quality expectations and standards and develop positive working relationships with other team members.
- Move and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and perform other physical tasks as required.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a maintenance technician role.
- Proficiency in basic maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
- Physical ability to perform required tasks including lifting and carrying heavy objects.
