Position Title: Security Officer

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, colleagues, and premises. Your duties include:

- Monitoring all guests and colleagues within your designated area, including the car park, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Conducting patrols within your assigned area, remaining alert for fire hazards, unsafe practices, and conditions, and taking action according to Emergency Response Plans.
- Maintaining positive public relations with guests and controlling traffic by directing drivers.
- Completing detailed reports by recording observations, incidents, and surveillance activities, and interviewing witnesses.
- Monitoring and adjusting building and equipment controls to maintain a safe environment.
- Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and contributing to the organization's stability and reputation.
- Performing preventive maintenance on equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and requesting repairs when necessary.
- Contributing to team efforts and accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Providing excellent customer service and adhering to company service and operating standards.
- Remaining compliant with local, state, and federal regulations and responding to emergencies to assist employees and customers.
- Protecting company assets from theft, assault, fire, and other safety issues.
- Following procedures for fire prevention, property patrol, traffic control, and accident investigations.
- Controlling access to buildings after closing hours, conducting security checks, and reporting any criminal incidents or damage.
- Responding to burglar and fire alarms, notifying Public Safety personnel, and controlling panels as directed.
- Locking and unlocking doors based on schedules and requests.
- Providing assistance to community members with directions and service-oriented needs.

Desired Candidate Profile:

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualities:

- Surveillance skills and attention to detail.
- SIRA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to handle uncertainty and exercise sound judgment and objectivity.
- Dependability, integrity, and professionalism.
- Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures and protocols.
- Proficiency in safety management and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Creativity and the ability to think "outside the box" when necessary.
- Initiative and willingness to take proactive measures to ensure security and safety.
