Job Title: Cost Accountant

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate cost accounting systems and analyzing various cost-related aspects within our manufacturing environment. Your responsibilities include:

1. Maintaining Cost Accounting System:
- Conduct periodic standard costing reviews and participate in related costing projects.
- Review bills of material and routing on an ongoing basis.

2. Cost Analysis and Data Collection:
- Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
- Analyze collected data and record results.

3. Cost Monitoring and Reporting:
- Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided to determine their effects on cost.
- Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Record cost information for controlling expenditures and prepare audit reports.
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conducting research and performing analytical studies regarding cost analyses and profitability.

4. Financial Reporting and Support:
- Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
- Maintain internal control documentation, test internal controls, and assist in month-end close of the general ledger.
- Participate in physical inventories and monitor cycle count program.
- Participate in the reconciliation of finished goods inventories.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Qualified or partially qualified with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong cost systems background, excellent analytical skills, and sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficient in computer skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Oracle or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with engineering or manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards.
- Ability to accurately prepare various reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Capability to work independently under minimal supervision.
