Job Description

Job Title: Wheel & Brake Technician

Job Purpose:
Assist the Engineer in performing base-level Wheel and Brake maintenance tasks, including repairs and component replacement on Air Arabia and Third-party aircraft. Ensure accurate and timely recording of required work in accordance with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key Result Responsibilities:

1. Task Card Review:
- Review assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge to understand the work, priorities, documentation requirements, and cautions before starting work.

2. Inventory Management:
- Assist the Engineer in verifying and ensuring compatibility and readiness of wheels and brakes stock as per approved standards.
- Ensure wheels and brakes are available for use when needed.

3. Scheduled Component Maintenance:
- Prepare and perform scheduled component maintenance based on assigned task cards.
- Obtain and use required documentation, parts, tools, and GSE per issued instructions.

4. Testing and Inspection:
- Conduct related tests and inspection tasks to identify and record defects or damage in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.

5. Tooling and Equipment:
- Ensure proper tooling and equipment are ready for tasks and return them in good condition after completing work.

6. Safety and Human Factors:
- Manage the safety of assigned maintenance tasks, adhering to published mandatory precautions.
- Protect self and others from possible injury by using proper GSE and protective equipment.
- Follow work interruption procedures and ensure adequate access and lighting for maintenance and inspections.

7. Internal Customer Service:
- Provide helpful information and support to the team and other department personnel involved in scheduled maintenance checks.

8. Representation of Air Arabia:
- Present a positive and competent image of technical professionalism to other companies' personnel and Air Arabia customers.

9. Cost Awareness:
- Maintain positive awareness of the cost of aircraft maintenance, including time and materials.

10. Waste Minimization:
- Minimize unnecessary waste of consumable material and part repair cost by avoiding unnecessary damage and repeat work during maintenance.

Qualifications:

- Qualified and experienced Civil Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English for technical communications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to obtain a UAE Driver’s License.

Work Experience:

- At least 2 years of experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Base Maintenance environment.
- Demonstrable basic understanding of component maintenance.
