Job Description
Position: Food Safety and Hygiene Officer
Role Overview:
As a Food Safety and Hygiene Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food operations comply with hygiene and food safety standards. You will provide guidance on proper food handling practices and deliver food hygiene training to new hires and trainees. Additionally, you will proactively identify areas of risk in food operations and take necessary preemptive actions to mitigate them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate operations to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Advise on proper food handling practices to maintain hygiene and safety.
- Provide food hygiene training for all new hires and trainees to ensure understanding and compliance with standards.
- Identify key areas of risk in various food operations and take preemptive remedial action to prevent potential issues.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective measures and improve processes.
- Stay updated on changes in food safety regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of food safety and hygiene activities, including training sessions, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Respond promptly to any food safety incidents or concerns and take appropriate action to address them.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene.
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
