Job Description
Job Title: Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Project Manager is tasked with delivering a multi-year program aimed at developing an Armed Forces Airborne Doctrine Program. This program is designed to facilitate the planning, preparation, execution, and assessment of Joint Airborne Operations. The Project Team will consist of highly trained and experienced former military professionals located in-country, as well as a remote workforce. The Project Manager's role involves coordinating and synchronizing the activities of the on-site team with the remote personnel to produce the required doctrine products.
This position requires a blend of tactical and operational experience, with a focus on developing unit capabilities to achieve organizational mandates and missions. Key areas of capability development include Joint Fires, Targeting, Rigging, Logistics and Health Planning, Air Defense, and Airfield Opening. Experience in applying the DOTMILBIE framework to assess organizational design, identify capability gaps, and formulate solutions is highly desirable. The Project Manager should also be familiar with Joint Airborne Operations, Air Assault Operations, Special Operations, and how these concepts and capabilities can be adapted to establish the desired client capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
- Retired Colonel (NATO) with extensive tactical and operational experience in Airborne, Air Assault, or Special Operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in on-site and distributed work environments with minimal oversight.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite Skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Possession of an active Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain an interim clearance.
- Possession of a valid National Passport (with more than 6 months until expiration).
- Previous Project Management experience is desired.
Education and/or Experience:
- Master's Degree in military science, national security studies, or a related field.
- War College Graduate or NATO equivalent.
- Ten or more years of military experience in Airborne and Air Assault organizations, preferably in an operational setting.
- Experience with force design, doctrine or concepts development, equipment and manpower documentation, or resourcing at Division level staff or higher.
