Job Description: Boom Truck Operator

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Boom Truck Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of boom trucks to transport and deliver heavy equipment and materials to construction sites, warehouses, or other designated locations. Responsibilities:

1. Operation: Safely operate boom trucks to transport and deliver heavy equipment and materials to specified locations.

2. Inspections and Maintenance: Perform daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure the boom truck is in good working condition.

3. Manoeuvring: Manoeuvre trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from the loading crew as needed.

4. Weight Management: Calculate and manage weight limits to comply with load regulations and ensure safe transportation.

5. Coordination: Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to fulfill job requirements effectively.

6. Log Maintenance: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries and journeys in compliance with federal and state regulations.

7. Loading and Unloading: Assist in the loading and unloading of cargo, securing items, and ensuring the balance and distribution of weight.

8. Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols for crane operation, including setting up outriggers and operating the boom under various conditions.


Skills:

- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Certification in boom truck operation with a proven track record of handling heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for operating heavy trucks and cranes.
- Physical capability to operate and maneuver heavy equipment.
- Strong navigational skills and familiarity with GPS devices and traditional maps.
- Excellent time management skills to maintain schedules and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills to interact with clients and colleagues.
