Job Description: Accountant
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
Local Accounts Payable:
Receive and verify invoices for goods and services from local suppliers, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Book invoices in the system, process due payments, and reconcile vendor balances.
Correspond with vendors, act as a liaison between departments and vendors, and maintain accounts payable files.
Reimburse office expenses, process payment transfer requests, and maintain organized filing systems.
Expenses Reimbursement & Staff Payments:
Reimburse office expenses, book payment entries in the system, and process payment transfer requests for staff payments.
Filing:
Organize and maintain both soft and hard copies of accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices.
Ensure compliance with VAT return filing requirements and maintain filing in accordance with UAE legal bodies.
Other:
Provide support to other departments during colleagues' leave.
Assist and guide new accountants when needed.
Handle petty cash advances if required.
Support in admin and government work as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
Fluent in English.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Required Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to learn.
Strong follow-up skills.
Open to handling new tasks if required.
Committed with the ability to work under pressure.
Corporate etiquette.
