Architectural CAD Draftsman

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Architectural CAD Draftsman with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of architecture. The ideal candidate will be proficient in preparing and reviewing MEP drawings, coordinating all MEP services in AutoCAD, and generating detailed Bill of Materials/Quantity take-offs. This role requires strong collaboration with the engineering team and senior architectural staff to ensure high-quality and functional design outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- CAD Drafting and Review:
- Prepare and review MEP drawings using CAD, ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate all MEP services in AutoCAD and create shop/installation drawings.

- Project Documentation:
- Generate Bill of Materials/Quantity take-offs based on shop/installation drawings.
- Maintain project drawings and records, including working drawings and as-built drawings.

- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with the engineering team to address design issues and ensure compliance with building regulations.
- Communicate with senior and architectural team members to incorporate feedback into drawings and improve drafting procedures.

- Project Management:
- Control projects from start to finish to ensure high quality, innovative, and functional design.
- Take the "brief" to identify clients’ needs and put together feasibility reports and design proposals.
- Develop design ideas with consideration for clients’ needs, building usage, and environmental impact.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in architectural drafting.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing MEP drawings and coordinating MEP services.

- Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant CAD software.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage projects from conception to completion.
