Job Title: SolidWorks Design Engineer

As a SolidWorks Design Engineer in the Automobile Division, your primary responsibility will be to design and create 3D models using SolidWorks software. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine product designs, ensuring they meet technical requirements and optimizing them for manufacturability and cost efficiency. Your role will also include preparing detailed engineering drawings, conducting feasibility studies, testing prototypes, and providing technical support to manufacturing and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and create 3D models using SolidWorks software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine product designs.
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform engineering analysis to ensure designs meet technical requirements.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
- Test and evaluate prototypes to verify design performance.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost efficiency.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Attend job kick-off meetings and receive engineering job files from operations coordinator/engineer.
- Review and understand job requirements by analyzing both engineering and sales files.
- Discuss job requirements, design input and output, and material needs with the Senior Design Engineer.
- Finalize preliminary general drawings and load calculations with the Senior Design Engineer.
- Prepare BOQs, drawings, calculations, and other project-related documents.
- Communicate with various departments to identify and solve design, materials, or production issues.
- Pre-approve purchase requests for materials and participate in material checking if required.
- Attend inspection and testing of products for level 2 and 3 projects.
- Provide technical assistance in discussions with customers and suppliers.
- Review completed jobs and report findings to the Senior Design Engineer.
- Incorporate changes and as-built drawings for closed jobs in the CAD system.
- Attend engineering, design review, and production meetings.
- Provide technical assistance to sales/estimation departments and operations for as-built/construction specifications.

Desired Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Solid proficiency in SolidWorks software.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in design engineering.
- Certification in SolidWorks or relevant CAD software is a plus.
- Experience in the manufacturing or product development industry is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn and implement new technologies and methodologies.
