Job Description: Manufacturing Cost Controller
Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Cost Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing and understanding cost drivers, ensuring accurate standard unit costs and Bills of Materials (BOMs), and implementing cost-saving measures. Your responsibilities include collaborating with department heads, conducting cost analyses, and overseeing financial reporting for Manufacturing & Manufacturing Service Cost Centers. You will contribute to maximizing efficiency without compromising quality, maintaining internal controls, and providing detailed analyses for decision-makers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of cost drivers and interdependencies.
2. Develop unit standard costs and BOMs, ensuring accuracy.
3. Collaborate with department heads to strategize waste reduction.
4. Conduct cost analyses and identify cost reduction opportunities.
5. Implement proactive solutions, cost-cutting measures, and cost-saving programs.
Financial Reporting:
1. Manage period-end and year-end closings for the Manufacturing Cycle.
2. Develop and monitor budgets for Manufacturing & Manufacturing Service Cost Centers.
3. Create detailed analyses and reports for the P&L, focusing on the cost of goods manufactured portion.
Control and Efficiency:
1. Maximize efficiency without compromising quality.
2. Perform monthly analysis of variances (Labor, PPV, Overhead).
3. Establish and maintain internal controls.
4. Ensure controls for scrap and cycle count reporting.
5. Develop production analysis reports and tools for decision-makers.
Skills:
Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in finance or a relevant field (strongly preferred).
2. Minimum of 4 years' experience in cost control.
3. Proficiency in SAP ERP system is a requirement.
4. CMA certification is preferred.
5. Management experience is strongly preferred.
6. Exceptional organizational skills and strong data aptitude.
7. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to generate budgets and reports.
9. Strong presentation skills, explaining concepts concisely and accurately.
10. Ability to build cooperative relationships with department heads.
11. Creative thinking skills and problem-solving ability.
