Job Description
Job Title: Security Supervisor
Position Summary:
As a Security Supervisor at our facility, you will be responsible for patrolling all areas of the property, securing rooms, assisting guests with room access, and conducting emergency response drills. You will also perform daily physical hazard/safety inspections, investigations, interviews, and key control audits. Monitoring Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV) and alarm systems, authorizing and documenting access to secured areas, and assisting guests and employees during emergencies are also key responsibilities. You will respond to accidents, contact EMS, or administer first aid/CPR as required. The role includes gathering information, completing reports, and maintaining confidentiality. You will defuse disturbances, handle safety hazards, and escort unwelcome persons from the property, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and Surveillance:
- Patrol all areas of the property to ensure safety and security.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
- Authorize, monitor, and document access to secured areas.
- Guest and Employee Assistance:
- Assist guests with room access and respond to their service needs.
- Assist guests and employees during emergency situations, including administering first aid/CPR as required.
- Emergency and Incident Response:
- Conduct emergency response drills and daily physical hazard/safety inspections.
- Respond to accidents, contact EMS, and gather information to complete reports.
- Defuse disturbances and resolve safety hazard situations.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage control laws.
- Maintain confidentiality of reports/documents and release information only to authorized individuals.
- Handle interruptions and complaints professionally.
- Conduct key control audits.
- Team Leadership and Training:
- Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Communication and Customer Service:
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
- Speak with others using clear and professional language.
- Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely.
- Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
- Physical and Operational Tasks:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
- Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire work shift.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, and over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
- Additional Duties:
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
- Complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
- Protect company assets.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
- Support the team to reach common goals.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Specialized training in security procedures preferred.
- First Aid and CPR/AED certification required.
- Experience and Skills:
- 1-3 years of related experience.
- Knowledge of security and public safety procedures and protocols.
- In-depth knowledge of Network Video and Access Control Systems.
- Keen surveillance skills and detailed orientation.
- Proficient PC skills (Word, Access, and Excel preferred).
- Ability to coordinate contract security officers.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm under pressure.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to perform physical tasks.
- Physical/Functional Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods.
- Physical mobility and stamina to run, ascend/descend stairs, and handle emergencies.
- Ability to carry and utilize a two-way radio.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
