Job Description
Job Title: Import Logistics Executive
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Import concepts, rules, and regulations.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of vessel clearance and port procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze domestic and international shipping documents, contracts, and procedures.
- Work closely with transportation providers ensuring efficient and effective execution of defined processes. This includes confirming shipment ETA’s, reviewing routing, confirming shipping line, government agencies and port releases, requesting/confirming wire payments, scheduling delivery appointments, and dispatching orders.
- As needed, assist in negotiating freight rates with transportation providers, targeting cost reduction, freight savings, and service.
- Perform invoicing and allocate freight costs. Liaison with Brand Managers, Accounting, and transportation providers, as needed, to resolve discrepancies.
- Facilitate the shipping of products from the suppliers to our warehouses.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders/shipping lines/Clearing agency to avoid any delays and reduce conflicts.
- Ensure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels.
- Manage activities throughout the order fulfillment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met.
- Oversees inventory of goods and vehicles.
- Streamlines shipping and transportation processes.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university, Logistics, or Supply Chain Major.
- 5+ to 7 years of experience in Import Logistics.
- Familiar with e-business & electronic procedures in custom clearance procedures.
- English Proficiency is a must.
- Very good computer skills, especially with Advanced Excel.
