Job Description

The Energy & Sustainability Manager will Lead organization’s Sustainability & Energy programs. Through his / her research and analysis will develop corporate Sustainability Strategy to ensure that business process and practiced are aligned with government rules and Regulations. Also, ensure that all the process, equipment, products, and services are environmentally friendly and in line with international sustainability standards. Role will also be acting as an Energy champion to develop Energy & Water Management Strategy to be incorporated in all business processes related to clients including but not limited to deliver and support on projects / operations in line with the Transguard Energy Management Policy and Strategy.

Duties of Energy & Sustainability Manager

The duties of the role are as under:-

Sustainability Strategy

• Work closely with stakeholders to plan, develop, approve, and execute local projects and enterprise-wide campaigns.

• Oversee the development of social responsibility policies and implement on all sites.

• Work on company branding strategies with the marketing department.

• Continuously seek new opportunities and coordinate with leadership team to generate new projects in the areas of CSR & Community Volunteer Program.

• Must be able to Measure and Verify Energy, Carbon Emissions & Water consumption data.

Project Management

• Manage environmental projects (e.g., recycling programs, energy reduction initiatives and other similar programs).

• Review the scope in detail & highlight any issues.

• Prepare the operational & performance parameters baselines of each project to qualify its sustainability impact.

• Review of service agreements, contracts and provide your feedback to procurement and legal departments on the sustainability aspects.

Operational Excellence & Service Delivery to client

• Regular engagement with Senior Manager and client leadership Team to determine project priorities and deliverables.

• Provide detailed Cost benefit analysis and business cases for improvements to client.

• Completion of all supporting documentation such as project brief and communication plan. Team Management & Leadership

• Inspire and work with the team and others to create a successful project management function.

• Provide coaching and guidance to team members to ensure everyone understands their role and tasks and can act on them efficiently.

• Ensure team have the skills, capabilities, and support to do their roles effectively.

• Ensure the team provide accurate, timely and consistent reporting to ensure measures and metrics can be reviewed on an on-going basis.

Governance of Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Work in partnership with support functions to ensure the correct policies and procedures are in place and maintained to support the Sustainability Strategy.

Health, Safety & Environment

• Demonstrate commitment and Leadership to ensure that all HSE Policies and Procedures are fully implemented throughout the areas of responsibility and are compliant to all relevant legal, regulatory, or contractual requirements pertaining to HSE.

• Ensure direct reports have adequate risk assessments for their line of work and are appropriately documented and regularly reviewed.

• Ensure direct reports are appropriately trained and understand their responsibilities and provide the required resources so that they can carry out their duties.

• Be represented at HSE Committee meetings.

• Set a personal example on all matters of Health and Safety and Environment. Energy & Water Management

• Define energy management strategy and supporting policy for efficient use of utilities, utilities include but are not limited to water, sewage, electricity & waste.

• Develop a programme and conduct energy use audits that links to the Energy policy and Environmental policy ensuring each TG client has detailed report and action plan to reduce utility consumption (Energy, water, Waste).

• Create energy star rating matrix for all client facilities and assets within facility.

• Liaise with facility managers, property managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance to energy management policy, conduct training sessions and create training material where necessary.

• Assist Facility Managers and Senior Manager in establishing project requirements and undertake feasibility studies.

• Responsible for supporting Facility Managers and Senior Manager for executing saving projects with documentation, and verification of savings as per approved case study.

• Provide energy management solutions for bid support, this may include bid writing and technical presentations to external clients on Energy/Utility Management.

• Support financial budget and forecasting, provide financial appraisal of conservation measures to determine business justification and ROI.

• Establish utility consumption baseline and conduct benchmarking against industry standards.

• Engage with industry professionals to keep up to date with new trends and technology.

• In depth analysis of consumption data, assess trends, report consumption data, and provide recommendations for improvements to client.

• Lead the Energy & Water Savings projects from Preparing the business Case and implementing on site.

• Ensure the compliance of LEED, Green Building Guidelines and be able to perform Energy Modelling.

• Prepare the strategy to reduce Carbon Emissions and Aim to have NET ZERO Emissions Goal.

Eligibility Requirements for Role of Account Executive The requirements for role of an Energy & Sustainability Manager Facilities Management Operations are as under:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or sustainability.

• 5 years of experience in a Similar Position including 3-5 years in the industry.

• 3 years in a management role.

• 3 years of experience in the GCC.

• BIM modelling.

• CEM / CEA / CMVP certification.

Skills Desired

• Strong Energy Management Knowledge.

• Extensive knowledge and well versed in Sustainability.

• Green Building Guidelines.

• Graduation in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, FM or Sustainability, CSR).

• LEED certified, Prior knowledge in LEED.

• Knowledge on how to get building LEED certified.

• Hands on experience on energy management audit and implementation (ASHRAE level 1, 2, & 3 audit).

• Knowledge on Carbon reduction strategies and calculations (Scope 1, 2 & 3).
