Roles & Responsibilities

We at LEO International HR Consultancy are seeking a Pastry Chef for our Transportation, Logistics client in UAE. This is a well-known company for ‘Driven by You’, is our commitment to you, our clients, that we will always drive towards supply chain excellence in response to your logistics needs.

Job Summary: As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. You will lead a team of pastry cooks and assistants, overseeing the production of high-quality items for restaurants, bakeries, hotels, or other food establishments.

Responsibilities:

Menu Development:
- Develop creative and innovative pastry recipes and menu items that appeal to customers' tastes and preferences.
- Stay updated on current pastry trends, ingredients, and techniques to continually refresh and enhance the menu.

Production and Preparation:
- Oversee the production and preparation of pastries, desserts, cakes, and other baked goods.
- Ensure that all items are prepared according to standardized recipes and quality standards, paying close attention to taste, texture, and presentation.

Ingredient Management:
- Manage inventory and stock levels of pastry ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Order ingredients and supplies as needed, maintaining adequate stock levels to support daily production requirements.

Team Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of pastry cooks and assistants, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring that all team members understand their responsibilities and work together cohesively.

Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of pastry items to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
- Taste and evaluate pastry products for flavor, texture, and appearance, making adjustments as necessary.

Kitchen Safety and Sanitation:
- Enforce strict adherence to kitchen safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment and tools are properly maintained and used safely by staff members.

Customer Service:
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to coordinate pastry offerings with overall menu offerings and special promotions.
- Interact with customers to gather feedback on pastry items and incorporate suggestions for improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

Culinary Education:
- Formal training in pastry arts or culinary arts from a recognized culinary institute or culinary school.

Experience:
- Proven experience working as a pastry chef or in a similar role, with a demonstrated ability to lead a team and produce high-quality pastry items.

Creativity:
- Strong creative and artistic abilities, with a passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentation techniques.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in a wide range of pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and pastry dough preparation.
- Knowledge of pastry ingredients, flavor combinations, and baking methods.
