Job Description


Cost Monitoring: Monitor and analyze all costs associated with Sweet Greens' food and beverage operations, including sourcing of fresh ingredients, kitchen supplies, and labor expenses.

Regularly review and update cost reports to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiency.

Inventory Management: Implement and oversee an effective inventory control system to manage stock levels and minimize waste.

Conduct regular physical inventories, ensuring accurate reconciliation with system records.

Budgeting:Collaborate with management to develop budgets for the food and beverage department, ensuring alignment with the restaurant's financial goals.

Monitor actual costs against budgeted costs, investigating and addressing significant variances.

Vendor Management: Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms for high-quality, fresh ingredients.

Evaluate and select vendors based on their reliability and commitment to sustainability, in line with Sweet Greens' values.

Menu Engineering:Work closely with the culinary team to analyze the profitability of the menu and suggest adjustments to enhance overall financial performance.

Evaluate the cost implications of new menu items and pricing strategies, ensuring they align with the restaurant's brand and vision.

Analytical Reporting: Generate and present regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to food and beverage costs.

Provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to improve cost efficiency.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations governing food and beverage costs.

Stay informed about industry trends, sustainability practices, and changes that may impact costs.

Training and Communication: Provide training to kitchen and service staff on cost control measures and sustainable practices.

Foster effective communication with various departments, promoting collaboration to streamline processes and address cost-related challenges.


Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in a similar role within the restaurant industry, especially in a health-conscious and sustainable dining environment.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address cost-related issues proactively.

Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments and convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.

Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accurate tracking and analysis of costs.

Knowledge: Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices, menu engineering, and industry trends in the healthy dining sector.

Software Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including inventory management systems and financial software.
