Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that vehicles are maintained and repaired according to established procedures and company policies. This position involves day-to-day management of workshop staff, utilizing maintenance systems to effectively lead the team and achieve company KPIs and goals, including high-quality repairs, maximum productivity, cost control, and a safe workplace.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Workshop Management:
- Use company systems and follow procedures for the day-to-day management of workshop staff.
- Assist in pre-delivery inspections (PDI) and parts ordering.
- Plan and distribute workshop load, increasing utilization, efficiency, and productivity.
- Implement quality control (QC) and on-the-job training.
2. Vehicle Reception and Inspection:
- Conduct PDI of vehicles upon arrival at the workshop.
- Complete Inward Inspection/PDI forms.
- Plan, devise, and design methods to streamline process flow in the workshop.
3. Workflow Coordination:
- Direct buses to relevant sections/modules.
- Advise technicians/service managers on maintenance lapses.
- Monitor Work in Progress (WIP) reports and address bottlenecks.
4. Quality and Training:
- Track warranty cases, repeated repairs, and product quality.
- Ensure manpower resources are used efficiently.
- Maintain a supportive and productive ambiance in the workshop.
- Receive client calls regarding breakdowns and deploy service teams promptly.
5. Team Management:
- Assign work to the workforce and provide necessary details for job cards.
- Conduct regular meetings with school supervisors, managers, and regional heads.
- Mentor subordinates for constant knowledge transfer.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Implement a Quality Check-based approach for in-process inspections.
- Prepare technical reports regarding product problems periodically.
- Ensure technicians replace old parts with new ones as per quality standards.
- Collect and deposit replaced parts in the designated Scrap area.
7. Maintenance Practices:
- Conduct regular maintenance for Special Service Tools.
- Ensure safe working practices.
- Handle Supply Chain Management (SCM) technical inquiries and identify items.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
- Close job cards immediately after buses are delivered.
- Work in both field and workshop environments.
- Support in parts stock order and replenishment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in processes and services.
Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Automotive.
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in the same field.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft Products.
- Organizational Skills: Good time-management skills.
