Job Description

Job Title: Chief of Gastroenterology Department

Job Purpose:
Serving as the Chief of the Gastroenterology Department, the role involves supervising, coordinating, and monitoring healthcare services in the department to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of quality healthcare in both the Outpatient Department (OPD) and the Inpatient (IP) sector. The Chief of Gastroenterology provides leadership, direction, and control over all department activities while administering resources with a focus on cost-effectiveness.

Key Result Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Supervision:
- Provide leadership as the head of the Gastroenterology Department.
- Supervise, coordinate, and monitor healthcare services to ensure quality care in both OPD and IP sectors.

2. Direction and Control:
- Provide direction and control over all department activities.
- Administer resources efficiently, emphasizing cost-effectiveness.

3. Quality Healthcare Delivery:
- Promote efficient and effective delivery of quality healthcare services.
- Ensure adherence to established medical standards and protocols.

4. Resource Administration:
- Administer department resources, including personnel, facilities, equipment, and materials.
- Optimize the utilization of hospital investments for the maximum benefit.

5. Cost-Effectiveness:
- Emphasize cost-effectiveness in the management of resources.
- Strategically allocate resources to achieve the best outcomes within the hospital's budget.

Qualifications:

- Medical Doctor (MD) with specialization in Gastroenterology.
- Board certification in Gastroenterology is highly desirable.

Work Experience:

- Extensive experience as a Gastroenterologist.
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a Gastroenterology Department.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare administration, resource management, and cost-effectiveness.
- Familiarity with medical standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
