Position Title: Security Guard

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dedicated Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of Camp Baird and its surrounding perimeter. This role encompasses two distinct disciplines: Entry Point Security Guards and Patrol Guards, both of which entail similar responsibilities and operate on a rotational basis throughout the contract period. Successful candidates will hold a minimum Baseline AGSVA (Australian Government Security Vetting Agency) security clearance.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of motivation and flexibility, capable of responding promptly and effectively to fluctuating workloads, events, and emergencies within a time-sensitive environment.

Key Accountabilities:

- Maintain a vigilant awareness of current threat levels and promptly report any suspicious activities observed.
- Foster friendly and cooperative relationships with Defence personnel, other contractors, and external agencies, prioritizing excellent customer service.
- Entry Point Security Guard – Operational Duties:
- Perform visual identification, verification, and P-tracking compliance to prevent unauthorized entry and exit of personnel and vehicles.
- Ensure visitors adhere to site induction requirements and issue, receipt, and record temporary and visitor passes.
- Monitor surveillance systems, act as a deterrent against unauthorized asset removal, and enforce site security protocols.

- Security Patrol Guards – Operational Duties:
- Conduct regular non-armed patrols of designated sites, internal perimeters, and building exteriors to prevent and detect signs of intrusion or fault.
- Promptly respond or divert to attend to activated alarms on the base and investigate disturbances.
- Utilize vehicles for internal ground patrols, visually identifying authorized personnel and vehicles and preventing unauthorized asset or information removal.
- Conduct walk-arounds of designated sites, perimeters, and building exteriors, promptly reporting any suspicious activity or security breaches.

Specific Requirements:

- Hold a minimum Baseline AGSVA security clearance, available only to Australian Citizens.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to provide effective customer service, respond to inquiries, and furnish information.
- Capable of following instructions explicitly, exercising judgment, and acting quickly in emergency situations.
- Possess relevant accredited competencies, skills, proficiencies, licenses, and qualifications, including a minimum Certificate II in Security Operations and specified units as outlined.
