Job Description

Job Title: Social Media Specialist

Job Purpose:

The Social Media Specialist will execute the Emirates Group's social media strategy, ensuring social media is a recognized and valued component of the integrated marketing mix supporting Emirates Group brands and business objectives. This role involves collaboration across departments to maintain consistent messaging and manage client interactions. The specialist will build a social media community and develop relationships with stakeholders in Corporate Communications, the business, suppliers, and other target groups to proactively manage issues alongside the Social Media Manager and Public Relations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategy Execution: Implement the Emirates Group social media strategy in close collaboration with the Social Media Manager, Public Relations Manager, and specialist Corporate Communications teams. Work with the business, external agencies, and vendors to ensure the corporate social media strategy is achieved and initiatives are implemented effectively.

- Daily Operations: Manage and execute day-to-day social media activities and operations to support Emirates Group brands and business objectives.

- Visibility and Advocacy: Enhance the visibility of the company’s major business initiatives and products. Develop the role of social media in the overall integrated communications mix and communicate key themes and messages that align with the missions, programs, products, launches, and campaigns of group companies.

- Social Media Presence: Develop and manage Emirates Group's presence on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter), as well as industry-relevant sites to manage advocacy and increase brand awareness.

- Content Creation: Identify social media content opportunities and create materials that enhance advocacy, build strong relationships, and encourage customers and influencers to become brand enthusiasts.

- Performance Measurement: Measure and monitor the effectiveness of the social media strategy using agreed tools. Generate clear, accurate, and concise reports for stakeholders to modify communications based on established goals.

- Sentiment Analysis: Capture and report on customer and target audience sentiment, attitudes, and responsiveness. Conduct competitor research and monitor social media trends to drive business insights.

- Relationship Management: Establish and maintain positive relationships with key individuals and groups. Collaborate with PR managers and agencies to influence these relationships.

- Brand Influence: Raise the profile and influence of the brand through social media in collaboration with Corporate Communications functions within the regions and support business units' activities.

- Internal Communication: Share information about new developments and achievements within the organization to feed into the social media plan and objectives.

- Trend Research: Research and recommend new social media developments, trends, applications, and media for broader discussion and collaboration within the department.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Educational Background: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years in public relations, corporate communications, or marketing with a focus on social media/online community management and writing.
- Social Media Expertise: Experience in managing brand social media presences.
- Writing Skills: Excellent social media writing skills to ensure appropriate tone and style.
- Digital Knowledge: Strong understanding of the internet and digital technology, including social media tools.
- Relationship Building: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Digital Landscape Understanding: Deep understanding of how social media fits into online marketing, advertising, public relations, and crisis communication strategies.
