Job Title: Warehouse Assistant

Position Overview:

The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods. This role demands a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Warehouse Assistant will collaborate closely with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient and effective warehouse processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving and Inspecting Goods:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and quality against delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage or defects and report any discrepancies.
- Update inventory records and label items as necessary.

Storage and Inventory Management:
- Organize and store goods in designated areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks.
- Assist in implementing inventory control procedures to minimize loss and ensure accuracy.

Order Picking and Packing:
- Pick and pack orders according to customer requirements and company standards.
- Ensure accuracy and quality in the order fulfillment process.
- Prepare goods for dispatch, including labeling and documentation.

Loading and Unloading:
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Use warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Ensure goods are handled and stored correctly to prevent damage.

Warehouse Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Dispose of waste materials and manage recycling processes.
- Conduct regular checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete necessary paperwork for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
- Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities.
- Assist in preparing reports on stock levels, damages, and discrepancies.


- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.

- Basic understanding of warehouse safety and procedures.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is an advantage.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to use inventory management software.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification to operate forklifts or other warehouse machinery.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.

Work Environment:
- Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- May involve shift work, including evenings and weekends, depending on operational needs.
