Job Description: Cost Accountant


Job Responsibilities:
1. Collect cost information and maintain an up-to-date expenses database.
2. Develop and implement effective data accumulation systems for accurate cost tracking.
3. Determine fixed costs, including salaries, rent, and insurance.
4. Plan and record variable costs, such as raw material purchases and operational costs.
5. Review standard and actual costs, identifying and correcting inaccuracies.
6. Prepare comprehensive budgeting reports for the company and individual departments.
7. Analyze and report on profit margins, offering insights for strategic decision-making.
8. Generate regular cost forecasts, including monthly, quarterly, and annual projections.
9. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
10. Identify and recommend cost-effective solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Job Requirements:
1. Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant, Cost Analyst, Accountant, or in a similar role.
2. Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
3. Experience with accounting software, such as FreshBooks and Zoho.
4. Computer literacy, particularly in MS Excel, with proficiency in VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
5. Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
6. Strong time management skills to meet reporting deadlines.
7. Integrity, with the ability to handle confidential information.
8. BSc degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field of study.
