Job Opportunity: Yard Equipment and Operations Specialist

Job Description:

Job Purpose:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Yard Equipment and Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring, controlling, and arranging Yard Equipment based on operational demand. The primary focus will be on supporting yard operations during real-time activities, ensuring effective solutions are applied to overcome challenges. The candidate must prioritize safety factors and comply with terminal policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Understand the manual and automatic yard planning process, SOPs, and work instructions to ensure vessel discharge aligns with the defined Yard Strategy.

2. Collaborate with the yard strategist to enhance vessel discharge planning processes and address concerns and issues.

3. Attend to all requests from line operators via email, discussing ITT-related plans with Yard strategists to facilitate hassle-free transportation.

4. Plan gate cargo based on the yard strategy, considering the daily game plan and gate movement, to achieve optimal external truck turnaround time.

5. Adhere to SOPs and WIs, including handling separate stacking requests, HAZ, OOG, and special container planning requirements.

6. Perform yard housekeeping checks before vessel arrival and after departure, consolidating cargo per yard strategy.

7. Plan and execute yard housekeeping requests in alignment with operational requirements.

8. Monitor yard layout during live vessel discharge operations, managing cargo flow based on equipment availability.

9. Ensure equitable distribution of discharge cargo among yard equipment and manage special cargo as per SOPs and WIs.

10. Report any deviations from the yard plan positions by yard equipment operators to superiors and management.

11. Report incorrect updates by yard equipment operators during live vessel discharge operations to management.

12. Provide daily yard status reports and yard inventory reports to management and customers as requested.

13. Archive yard planning-related papers following standard operating procedures.

14. Perform additional duties assigned by management.

15. Optimize Quay and yard operations to achieve set KPIs.

16. Responsible for safety and discipline in the work area.

17. Ensure compliance with Fatal Risk Standards, Safe Work Practices, and HSE policy.

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

- Experience in container terminal operations: 3 - 5 years
- Work experience in container terminal operating systems
- Education: Diploma/ Graduate
- Excellent computer operating skills
