Job Description: Captain (A320)
Job Purpose:
The Captain is responsible for conducting assigned flights in accordance with the detailed provisions of the Air Arabia Operational Manual and in compliance with GCAA/CAA regulations. Ensures ultimate safety, security, and efficiency throughout all flights, provides guidance to the flight/cabin crew, handles emergencies effectively, and maintains control over the flight.
Key Result Responsibilities:
Flight Operations:
1. Fly Air Arabia aircraft from one destination to another, considering safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
2. Ensure assigned flights comply with the Air Arabia Operations Manual and regulations, implementing procedures for safe and smooth operation.
3. Ensure timely attendance, grooming, fitness, and legality of self and Flight Crew for assigned flights.
Pre-flight Preparation:
4. Conduct pre-flight briefing to ensure crew members are informed of flight details.
5. Liaise with co-pilots and Dispatch Team, ensuring crew preparedness and provision of required information.
Safety and Technical Compliance:
6. Ensure safety, security, fuel, and transit checks are performed by the assigned crew members before, during, and after each flight.
7. Cooperate with Maintenance Engineers to confirm aircraft technical status and address concerns promptly.
8. Ensure accurate loading of necessary documents and technical logs per Air Arabia and GCAA/CAA regulations.
Regulatory Compliance and Training:
9. Keep up-to-date with legal requirements of regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with regulations.
10. Undertake additional ground-based tasks, such as Safety Officer or Security Officer, as directed.
Qualifications:
- Appropriate ATPL License.
- Technical/psychometric assessment and Medical Fitness check-up as per Air Arabia/GCAA/CAA standards.
- Training in safety and emergency response, basic airport security procedures, and Crew Resources Management.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 800 hrs as PIC on A320 and a total of 2000 hrs as PIC.
- Valid PPC/IR and last flight on A320 within the last 12 months.
- Experience with low-cost airlines is desirable.
- Exposure to QA/Safety/Security/Audit procedures related to Flight Operations.
Salary & Benefits Summary:
Contract Duration:
- Initially for 14 months, renewable upon mutual agreement.
Accommodation:
- Provided on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Transportation:
- Ground transportation provided for rostered flight duties.
Travel:
- Unlimited standby tickets on Air Arabia group network during the contract.
- Eligibility for MYID travel benefits after 6 months.
Schedule:
- Rostered for flight duties with a schedule compliant with CAA regulations.
- Typically, 3 consecutive weeks of flight duties followed by 1 week off.
Medical Insurance:
- Group Medical & Life Insurance throughout the contract.
Salary Details:
- Monthly net salary during training: AED 20,199 (pro-rated).
- Monthly net salary after training: AED 27,544 for up to 75 block hours.
- Flying pay above 60 block hours: AED 404 per additional block hour.
- Per diem: AED 184 per day, covering food and miscellaneous expenses.
