Job Description

Job Title: Security Officer

Roles & Responsibilities:

As a Security Officer, you play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests and team members. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks aimed at maintaining a secure environment and responding effectively to any incidents. Below is an outline of the key duties you will be expected to perform:

1. Monitoring and Control:
- Monitor and control staff entrances to regulate access.
- Conduct regular searches of staff belongings and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Oversee the goods pass out procedure for items obtained legitimately.
- Maintain a system for monitoring contractors' compliance with health and safety policies.

2. Security Measures:
- Check goods received outside of regular hours.
- Keep a record of the issue and receipt of departmental keys.
- Operate, check, and monitor the CCTV system for surveillance purposes.
- Patrol the premises regularly, ensuring compliance with fire safety protocols and recording fire walks.
- Ensure the safe transfer of cash within the hotel.

3. Emergency Response:
- Support the evacuation of the hotel during fire alarm situations.
- Monitor and handle suspicious packages, adhering to bomb and terror threat procedures.
- Provide secure storage for guest oversized items.
- Secure hotel facilities and function rooms when not in use.

4. Reporting and Investigation:
- Maintain the Security Log Book and Incident Reports accurately.
- Investigate and report all theft, criminal damage, and other incidents promptly.
- Manage instances of undesirable behavior professionally, intervening when necessary to defuse potential conflicts.
- Liaise with local law enforcement in the absence of the Security Team Leader.
- Report any maintenance or hazard issues to the duty supervisor.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Physically fit and able to perform duties effectively.
- Minimum of two (2) years of law enforcement experience in a Security Bureau or military setting.
- Proficiency in fire procedures, disaster plans, bomb threats, and evacuation procedures.
- Familiarity with local laws and government regulations.
- SIA trained and licensed.
- Demonstrates discretion and maintains confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Maintains high grooming standards.
- Capable of remaining calm and working under pressure, especially in emergency situations.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.

Advantages (if applicable):
- Previous experience in a customer service environment.
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of P.A.C.E. (Proactive, Accessible, Consistent, and Efficient) principles.
- IT proficiency.
