Job Description
Job Title: Hygiene Officer
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Safety Standards:
- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety standards, including pre-requisite programs and the HACCP program.
- Form and lead a HACCP team through the certification process.
2. Kitchen Inspection and Coordination:
- Monitor and coordinate the Kitchen inspection program by observing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and HACCP manual.
- Work closely with Kitchen, Engineering, Stewarding, and other departments to introduce modern techniques that enhance food safety.
3. Training Programs:
- Conduct in-house training programs related to Food Hygiene and safety for all staff.
- Train HACCP members and staff on food safety policies and procedures.
4. Audits and Verification:
- Conduct detailed Food Safety Benchmarking audits of the properties on a scheduled basis.
- Implement a verification system for the HACCP Program, including tracking and trending of audit results and corrective action procedures.
5. Lab Analysis and Compliance:
- Initiate laboratory analysis of food samples, water, and ice as per set standards and frequency.
- Liaise with the Local Regulatory Authority to ensure compliance with municipality requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year working experience in the same field.
- Good working knowledge of legislation and best practices relating to Food Safety.
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Ability to make sound judgments and justify decisions competently.
