Job Title: Workshop Planner

Role Overview: The Workshop Planner role involves allocating technical jobs to technicians, ensuring the alignment of job requirements with their technical skillsets to optimize workshop utilization. The Workshop Planner acts as the main link between the frontline and the workshop, supporting the timely completion of technical jobs for on-time vehicle delivery to customers.

Responsibilities:

• Allocate jobs to technicians based on the correct category required for the task.

• Monitor the technician planning board and Job Progress Control Board as per the monthly roster, escalating any concerns to the workshop manager.

• Ensure fair and accurate distribution of jobs to meet technicians' utilization and efficiency targets.

• Ensure compliance with the Fix It Right (FIR) Process to achieve FIR targets.

• Ensure that allocated jobs are closed as per the schedule.

• Ensure no deviations occur in the time clocking process, escalating when necessary.

• Ensure on-time vehicle delivery by providing vehicle progress updates to the Service Advisor.

• Required Skills for Success:

• Experience in allocating jobs to technicians based on the correct category required for the job.

• 2 to 3 years of overall experience as a Workshop Controller or Workshop Planner in an automobile dealership.

• Ability to write technical reports.

• Strong communication skills.

About the Team: The Workshop Planner reports to the Aftersales Manager and works closely with Technicians and Service Advisors on a daily basis. The role involves constant communication of all changes that affect a vehicle to the concerned department and collaboration with various internal and external departments to maximize overall business benefits.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering.

• Diagnostic Technician or equivalent qualification.

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

• A UAE driving license will be an advantage.
